New and Recent Series of Work

after a few weeks of procrastination and inexcusable laziness, i finally summoned the courage to update my blog. what we have here are some of the pieces that i'm currently working on or was shown from the last show at beatrock. the first four identical pieces belong to the "boxy pirates series". the boxy pirates are a vicious species of e-woks gone wild. they are indigenous to the islands of Philippines. they are known to be extremely loud but extremely good in dancing, rapping, singing, cooking and especially making babies thus making the export of this tenacious resilient people the economic backbone of the aforementioned country.

and finally, some pieces from the "boxy-bots series". the idea behind the boxy woody mechanical organic (de)fragmentation of the human body came from playing with cardboard boxes as a kid with my siblings. turning them into armor, cannons, a cave, a house, or our own super unbeatable intergalactic robot:) by the way folks they are mounted on wood and is for sale. the watercolor pieces are also for sale. if interested just holla! enjoy!

JAN 9 SOLO ART SHOW BEATROCK LONG BEACH

and here's what to expect at this upcoming solo art show at beatrock in long beach. besides water color, i'm also showing some mixed media paintings, drawings, intaglio prints, and some scuptures:).

i've been organizing my computer files for the last 3 days, and i found some interesting pictures of previous pieces dating at least 4-6 years ago. its amazing how i really toned down on using straight from tube color palette in contrast to pastel like, earthy, flat color palette of previous pieces. the first piece is acrylic paint, paper cutouts , matte medium, fabric softener aerosol and marker on wood panel. the 2nd piece is water color, and pigment pen on paper. the third piece is done using acrylic paint, aerosol, markers, and sand paper on framed plastic sign. the fourth piece is aerosol paint, acrylic paint, markers, fake american express credit card, and gel medium on wood. the last piece is an assemblage of wooden materials painted using acrylic paint, aerosol, markers, paper collage and card boards. enjoy!
